An updated cover and more...

Here's the latest version of the cover...

And the progression for the back cover (if I ever manage to put together a mass market paperback). Blackjack's the little guy, btw...

  1. Cool artwork. Is the big guy Epic?

  2. While waiting for Wayard I went and reread Villain and I got a question. The bow that Blackjack gets on Shard did he lose that or what?

  3. 1. It's not Epic. I always envisioned Epic like Alexander the Great, blonde and handsome with short curly hair, and big like the old Malibu Comic's Prime, huge and almost amorphous.

No, this guy is far more dangerous...

    2. I thought I put some language in the prison cell scene after he's defeated on Shard world where he looks at his arm and sees some pinpricks on his skin and realizes that the bow is gone. The editing after I finished was so chaotic that it might have been stripped out for some reason. If it was, good catch :)

  4. It must have gotten lost in the editing because there's Blackjack using it to protect the others get away and then nothing after they take him to the Lightbringers spire. It was a cool idea though retractable and all. I was kind of hoping that with all the aliens around the bow would turn out to be some kind of parasitic organism/weapon that controls its bearer but couldn't control Blackjack for some reason when it clamped down on him.

  5. The artwork is great but I'm glad space was put in between the characters cause in the line drawing someone might mistake that for a lean in kiss scene but of coarse I know its Blackjack leaning in to say something menacing and threatening getting ready to throw down. If its not Epic than hes sure got a Greek God thing going on maybe hes visited earth at some point and provided the inspiration for one of the gods hmmmmm.
